| Tour to England June 2004 with expert instruction from Randall Sexton "To me, plein-air painting is an environmentally-friendly exchange between myself and the world beyond. The end result is a record of the experience, a portrait of the moment, a blending or mixture of myself and what lies before me." Randall Sexton is a California painter whose loose, colorful style is admired by collectors and fellow artists alike. Sexton was born, raised, and educated in Connecticut. He moved to California in 1980, immediately following his graduation from the University of Connecticut. He has been a fixture in the Bay Area painting scene ever since. He loves to paint and learn from other artists, having taken workshops with numerous artists across the country. In 1996 he was selected to teach at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. He has been featured in many shows, galleries and articles including American artist, the July 2003 issue of Southwestern Art (p106 -9). In addition to landscapes, Randall paints still lifes, florals, figures, and portraits. His versatility evidences a seriously dedicated painter who strives to stretch boundaries whenever he can. His colors are brilliant and accurate and his compositions are full of grandeur and closely observed detail. He is widely regarded to be the premier plein air painter working in Northern California today an area renown for its plein-air paintings.
